Meet Williette Robertson, Doctor of Internal Medicine, ballroom dancer, and sponsor of Dance Unite, the non-profit arm of DanceEdge! Williette’s involvement in the Columbus area dance community is a continuation of a life-long dedication to the service and care of others.

As a youth in North Carolina, Williette took to dance after suffering an achilles injury as a track athlete. She attended Dance Connection, and discovered that dance came naturally to her. Thanks to the generosity of others, she received a scholarship to dance for 12 years, as well as a desire to help others in the same way.

After high school, Williette went on to choose an educational path that would allow her to give back, graduating from the Wright State University School of Medicine in 1995. She chose to specialize in internal medicine, working with veterans at VA Medical Clinics in Columbus. While working as a physician, Williette rekindled her love for dance, taking ballet, jazz and tap at Dublin Dance Center and Ballet Met. While working as a physician, she also performed locally with Dublin Dance Center’s Adult Dance Team. Williette eventually made the move to the ballroom after first attending group classes at Dance Plus Ballroom in Columbus, and continuing on at DanceEdge.

Williette has been a Pro-Am dancer for several years. Her instructor and dance partner, Jeffrey Goltiao, applauds her positivity and her ability to stay composed under stress, all of which have contributed to her longevity and success in competing four times at the Ohio Star Ball!

Here at DanceEdge, it is with much gratitude that we recognize Williette’s contributions—her donations have helped to maintain a studio space for so many dancers to enjoy, and to create scholarships for local children to experience, as she has, the amazing benefits of dance. Thank you, Williette, for your generosity!
