DO I NEED A PARTNER?
Absolutely not! You do not need a dance partner to learn how to dance at DanceEdge! If you come as a single student, your instructor will be your partner for individual lessons, and group classes will give you an opportunity to meet other students!
WHAT TYPE OF DANCE DO YOU TEACH?

And if you are looking to compete, we can help you reach your fullest potential through our Pro/Am programs! Contact us for specialty programs (flash mobs, team building events, etc.)
WHAT IS A PRIVATE LESSON?
Private lessons are a dance lesson in which an instructor works with one student or a couple. Private lessons are customized to your specific dance goals, and they enable you to learn at your own pace and in the best way for you. You will not be alone out on the floor; typically, there will be several private lessons going on at the same time. Private lessons are by appointment only, and may be scheduled by calling or e-mailing us directly.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO COME FOR LESSONS?
This all depends on the individual! Many students come in once a week, however we also have students who are in the studio every day, the choice is yours!
It is a good idea to schedule lessons close together, especially at first. This will help you to remember what you have learned and you will learn more quickly, which will help to build your confidence. Attending a group class or party is also a great add-on, as it will help you to be motivated and give you extra practice!
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
If you have a specific dance or style your interested then we will focus on that, otherwise we will teach you an array of popular social dances such as salsa, swing & more! It’s all up to you, as you create a custom program with your instructor.
hOW MUCH DO LESSONS COST?
Here at DanceEdge, we encourage every new student to take advantage of our Introductory Package! It is a great value for the amount of instruction and practice that you get. After that, the price will vary based on the dance lesson program you have created with your instructor to fit your personal interests and goals.
WHO WILL BE MY TEACHER?
Every instructor at DanceEdge is a talented educator with a love for dance. Our instructors come from all over the world, and many are award-winning professional dancers. Our instructors are dedicated to helping you find a passion for ballroom dance in an encouraging atmosphere. The instructors are the heart of any studio, and DanceEdge is no different–we only work with supportive teachers that desire to make ballroom dance a positive experience for every student that steps out on the floor!
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST VISIT?
The most important thing is to dress comfortably to allow for ease of movement, and you’ll also want to select comfortable shoes. Leather-sole shoes for gentlemen would be the best choice (athletic shoes do not work well on the ballroom floor), and a shoe with a back for ladies (similar to what you might wear to go out dancing).
WHAT DO I BRING TO MY WEDDING DANCE CONSULTATION?
If you are coming to your wedding dance consultation, you will want to dress comfortably, and preferrably bring the shoes you will be wearing to your wedding (leather-soled for gentlemen is the best choice for ease of movement on the dance floor). You will also want to bring along a few song choices if you have not already narrowed it down to one! If you have an idea of what you’d like your dance to look like, bring along your ideas, and your instructor will be happy to help you make it a reality! Anything else you’d like to bring along to share with us your vision for the big day is optional but definitely acceptable!
